30% off Factory Seconds

Once a year, we sell the pans that almost made it.
This is that week.

“I simply could not find what the ‘second’ was on my pan. Goes to show you they are perfectionists about their pans.”

Judith S.

“Once you get cooking there’s no way to tell a factory second from a first (and I have both). I will always be on the lookout for the factory seconds.”

Mary M.

“Can’t believe it is a second. Excellent looks and cooks great.”

Verified Review

“Not sure why this was a ‘Factory Second.’ Nothing wrong with it. It’s a casting. Castings are rarely perfect. Perfect is boring.”

Matthew B.

“I ordered this No.8 skillet and lid as factory seconds, and could find NO defect or flaw. If you are on the fence, JUMP JUMP JUMP!!”

Rick S.

“As for it being a factory second, that was almost laughable; it was such a slight imperfection.”

Frequently Asked Questions

A pan that fell just short of our exacting standards in final inspection. Every Field Factory Second cooks just as well as our firsts and will last just as long—that is, forever.

Usually one of three things: a cosmetic mark (small dimples from the sand casting process, or color variation in the factory pre-seasoning), a minor machining mark, or a slight variation in bottom flatness. Bigger issues never make it this far—they're caught earlier in production and remelted into new pans.

No—that's the grading standard. Anything that would affect cooking performance doesn't get sold as a second. Many customers tell us they can't find the flaw at all, and most cosmetic marks disappear as your own seasoning builds over them.

Factory Seconds are final sale, and they're not covered by our 45-day trial. That said, if your pan arrives with a genuine problem—something that actually affects cooking—we'll make it right. Just reach out to help@fieldcompany.com.

Until supplies run out. We typically hold one Factory Seconds Sale a year, and the most popular sizes sell out within days—when they're gone, they're gone.

Same iron, same molds, same machining, same hand-applied seasoning. A second comes off the same line as every first-quality Field pan—it just picked up a cosmetic mark along the way.

Field pans are lighter and smoother than most modern cast iron—modeled after the vintage American pans collectors hunt for, made 100% in the USA, and seasoned by hand. They work on every cooktop, including induction, plus the oven, grill, and campfire. Here's how they're made.
