A cast iron skillet lid turns a versatile everyday kitchen tool into a truly all-purpose braising, steaming, melting, and rice-cooking pan.

The No.8 Field Skillet was the first pan we made, and it remains our best-selling product—and it's even better with a matching lid.

No.8 is a vintage-style size: from edge-to-edge, it measures 10 ¼” and the lid is an exact fit.

Both the No.8 Skillet and Lid—including the knob—are 100% cast iron.

Seasoned cast iron is safe for high-heat cooking, indoors and out, on all kinds of burners—including electric and induction cooktops.

Field lids are Made in the USA, like all Field cast iron cookware. We source recycled iron from American vendors, and use green sand molds to pour cast iron.

Cast iron lids are seasoned with multiple coats of grapeseed oil. No synthetic coatings, Teflon, or other materials.

Hand-wash only and dry promptly. Apply Field Seasoning Oil after use to maintain seasoning and prevent rust.

Like all cast iron cookware, our cast iron lids should never be cleaned in the dishwasher, or left to drip or air-dry.

    Honest review

    After testing other brands, I must say, Field is the best cast iron cookware on the market, in terms of quality, looks and performance. It is lighter but still has the necessary mass on the bottom for good heat retention. It seasons faster than other brands due to the lighter weight. Not as fast as Carbon steel but almost there. No sacrifice in performance. Just added convenience and efficiency. The seasoning looks smooth and even unlike other brands.

    If you can afford it and you like to cook, I would highly recommend this brand.

    I adore my new iron skillet. I like that recipe about the blueberries. This pan is my new pie pan. My other pie pans are used now for plant saucers. I love ❤️ the weight, the smooth surface and it’s simple to clean. It’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Plus I think I missed getting the iron every day. He’s on the stove, clean, ready to go to work.

    Just what I was looking for

    This is a great cast iron skillet, very light to handle and came ready to cook in. Makes great corn bread and reminds me of my grand mothers. Very satisfied and glad I purchased it, should have done it sooner.
